Thank You for your support of the Shenandoah County Soccer League. Our Travel program has grown dramatically in the past few years and we are sponsoring 8 Travel teams for the Fall 2018 / Spring 2019 season. Travel Soccer is truly a chance for our Recreational players that have the desire to train and compete at the club’s highest level.
We are proud to have some of the lowest registration fees in the State. We are continuously doing our best to ensure that we keep it affordable and available to all the Youth Athletes of our county. To do so our Coaches volunteering their time and they do everything possible to help out Youth players to grow and develop. All of our coaches are well qualified and are holding a minimum of either a Level II NSCAA certification or US Soccer “E” license.
The SCSL is committed to providing a Travel soccer program for those children and coaches looking to challenge themselves beyond the Recreational soccer level. Travel soccer is more competitive in nature. Travel teams offer competition and training for players who have the potential, drive and desire to compete at a higher level. The primary focus of the Travel Program is player development through quality coaching and high quality competition. Great emphasis is placed on teamwork and sportsmanship. During pre-announced tryout dates, players wishing to earn a position on a travel team participate in annual tryouts.League games are scheduled primarily on Sundays, although there may be an occasional Saturday game. Home games will be played on local soccer fields and Away games will be played on fields typically within a one to two hour drive from the area. The schedule traditionally consists of 8-10 league games, half of which are played at our home fields (the Soccerplex) and the other half away. The fall season begins the weekend after Labor Day and extends through mid November. The spring season begins in March and extends through June. The SCSL currently competes in the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL), one of the top tier leagues in the northern Virginia area.
