Update from VYSA Regarding COVID-19

April 20, 2020

First and foremost, VYSA wants to stress that our number one priority is to our players and their families, coaches, volunteers and referees.

On the State level, VYSA will be following the direction of US Soccer and postponing all coaching education courses until at least June 30th. Our Developmental ODP program and State Cup competition will be following USYS direction and postponing any activity until at least May 15th.

Additionally, VYSA wants to alert our members that remote training via our clubs is a “sanctioned” activity and therefore covered under VYSA’s general liability and secondary medical policies.

VYSA reminds our clubs that one vs. one remote training (adult/minor player) is prohibited under VYSA’s Safe Sport Policy as is electronic contact under the same circumstance.

The State Office will remain operational throughout this difficult time and will be available to assist our members as needed. We will be passing on information from US Soccer, USYS and government entities as soon as they become available.
