Recreational Season Start Delayed to April 18

The Executive Committee of the Shenandoah County Soccer League Board of Directors has decided to postpone the start of the spring recreational soccer season due to public health concerns. We are taking this action voluntarily in order to assist with efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19.

Opening Weekend has been moved to April 18-19. All recreational games will be played at the SCSL SoccerPlex.

The coaches meeting for the spring season has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 2, at 7 PM. The location will be confirmed at a later date.

Team rosters for recreational teams will not be released until April 2, so there will be no practices until then.

The League will keep the waitlist for the recreational season open for the next two weeks; please click on the Recreational --> Registration tab. You will not have to pay any registration or uniform fees unless your player is placed on a team.

All travel leagues in Virginia have suspended play until April 18. Travel teams have agreed to not hold practices for at least a week.

Please click here for advice from the Virginia Youth Soccer Association and US Soccer to prevent the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19.

We urge all members of the Shenandoah County soccer community to exercise excellent judgment about personal hygiene and which activities to participate in during the next few weeks.

Thank you for your participation in the Shenandoah County Soccer League and for your cooperation in protecting those who are most at risk in our community.

Sincerely,
Adam Sharp
(on behalf of the Shenandoah County Soccer League Board of Directors)
