SCSL WAITING LIST ADDENDUM TO REGISTRATION POLICIES
The Waiting List will be created for registrations received by mail only after the 15 day late registration in each season. The proper late fee must be added or the registration is invalid and will be returned.
The Waiting List will be used at the discretion of the Recreation Commissioner and Age Commissioners to fill any teams that are short of the players to make such team competitive within the League. Such vacancies are created due to injury, families moving out of the county, kids not wanting to play after registering, etc.
Parents will be informed via email by the Recreation Commissioner that their child’s registration has gone to the Waiting List, and that there is a chance that their child can play if the opening exists within the team formation period or during the first week of practices. They will also be informed that there is no guarantee of their child being placed on a team, and that the league will do its best to place the child if the opportunity exists.
Kids will be placed on a first come, first serve basis, as the registrations will be noted in the order they were received.
A notice will be placed on the registration form and the SCSL website noting the Waiting List, and that registrations sent in after the late registration cutoff will automatically go to that list.
Once team formation is finished, the Waiting List may be accessed to fill any voids in teams that are needed additions to make the team competitive. It is possible that a child may be asked to play in an area outside of their preferred designation.
The Waiting List will be maintained up until the beginning of the second week of practices.
At the end of the allotted time, the Waiting List will be shut down. If any players exist who were not put on teams, their registrations and late fees will be reimbursed.
The League is not guaranteeing any child on this list will be placed on a team.
The League Commissioner and Recreation Commissioner will oversee the Waiting List until the cutoff point, and they will work with the Registrar on any additions to teams and, once the cutoff point has been reached, will let the Registrar know who was not placed on a team.
